What are the signs? Depending on type of heart disease: chest pain, shortness of breath, lightheadedness; extremely slow, racing, or irregular heartbeat; grey or bluish skin tone; swelling in legs, abdomen, feet, or ankles.
What to do? Follow a healthy diet that is low in salt; exercise regularly and frequently; quit smoking or don't start; consult your doctor if you have at least two symptoms. Obesity and high blood pressure put you at higher risk.
